OUR STORY
Bare Build, led by Taurey Witsel, is a building and construction company operating in the Northern Rivers region. With 20 years experience as a carpenter, site supervisor, and builder across Northern NSW and SE Queensland, Taurey brings a wealth of expertise to every project. A lifelong resident of the Northern Rivers, Taurey’s strong connection to the area is matched only by his passion for the ocean, which keeps him surfing when he's not working. Taurey prides himself of having excellent communication and working side by side with clients to ensure their project comes to life with the best outcome possible. Bare Build proudly won two awards at the Northern Rivers Region MBA awards in 2025 for Fingal Road and Paterson Street projects.

Bare Build is committed to providing clients with exceptional work including project planning, shop fit outs, residential renovations and new builds. Taurey has worked on large commercial projects and developed skills that allow him to easily manage large builds and teams, managing trades and projects in a calm and efficient manner. With years of experience working alongside a high end builder in Byron Bay, Taurey has managed substantial residential projects for prestigious clients. His extensive background in these high profile builds further underscores his expertise in delivering exceptional results. Taurey and his team focus on the finer details of each project ensuring they are to the highest standard and are absolutely meticulous when providing a finished product. Taurey is deeply passionate about the construction of healthy homes, having completed a specialist course with The Healthy Home in 2025. He works closely with clients to integrate sustainable practices and carefully considered materials that enhance both wellbeing and aesthetics.

2025 MASTER BUILDERS AWARD WINNER
In 2025, Bare Build was honoured to win two awards at the NSW Master Builders Association Excellence in Building Awards for the Northern Rivers region, winning in the categories of Renovations Under $400,000 for Fingal Road and Renovations $1 Million - $1.5 Million for our Byron Bay project.
