Project focus - Cal Somni

Appropriately named Cal Somni, meaning a “place of dreams” in Catalan, backing onto the beautiful Dreamtime beach at Fingal Head. The design brief for this quaint property was simple, outdoor living with a touch of Japanese influence. Bare Build used an existing raised concrete slab that had a shed on it previously to create a complete outdoor living area. Key features of this incredible project are floating perimeter decks on three sides, large custom aluminium framed sliding doors, transparent polycarbonate cladding and door finishes, 1200mm eaves to shade and protect from weather and sun. All while boasting the entire wall and roof framing structure constructed from locally sourced hardwood, that was hand picked by the client and builder.
